Home Support Worker

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene).

• Meal Prep & Nutrition: Plan, cook and prepare healthy, nutritious meals;

• Maintain a clean and comfortable environment by doing light laundry, washing dishes, and general tidying.

• Safely assist with self-administered medication, Monitor vital signs, and report health changes.

• Assist with safe transfers (walking, getting in/out of bed or chairs) and encourage light, regular exercise (e.g., short walks).

• Accompaniment on walks or appointments

• Engage in meaningful conversations, assist with hobbies, and provide emotional support.

Training and Certification:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or specialized elderly care training.

• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification an asset.

• Clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check and professional references.

Work Setting:

Work is entirely on-site in the client's private home; Non-smoking

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Bending, crouching, kneeling

• Combination of sitting, standing, walking
