Wage:

• $37.50/hour; salary increases per company policy

• Bonus per company policy

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time (30 to 60 hours per week, weather dependent); Mornings, Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Overtime required

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience

Work Setting: Commercial, Industrial, Roads and bridges, Sidewalks and curbs

Type of Materials: Colours and sealers, Hardeners and epoxies, Reinforcing membrane and protective covering

Worksite environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Job entails working close to buildings, utilities, moving equipment and public traffic, etc.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 50 lbs/23 kg), Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment

Personal Suitability: Team Player, Accurate, Organized, Dependability, Flexibility

Own Tools: Steel-toed safety boots

Duties:

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade

• Erect and dismantle concrete forms

• Mix, pour, spread, and place concrete for flatwork, curb and gutter, sidewalks, slabs, and other concrete surfaces

• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement

• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete

• Level earth to fine-grade specifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification

• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools

• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces

• Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials

• Monitor safety conditions

• May be required to perform related duties as needed
