• Based in Red Deer, with travel to various locations in Alberta.

• The employer provides transportation from the main office to worksites, parking available at the main office.

• Travel or living allowance when working out of town per company policy.

• Reimbursement for flight from within Canada to start work as a Concrete Finisher is available, per company policy.

Wage: $33.33 – $35.00/hour (based on skills and experience), salary increases as per Company policy

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, Full-Time, 40 to 60 hours/week (weather-dependent), Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime.

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience

Work Setting: Commercial, Roads and bridges, Sidewalks and curbs, Industrial, Rural, Remote, Urban, Institutional

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Dusty, High temperature

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads (up to 23kg/50lbs), bending, crouching, kneeling, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, exposure to varied weather conditions

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Type of materials used: Concrete, wood and steel.

Duties:

• Place, spread, level, compact, smooth and finish concrete using hand tools, power tools and specialized finishing equipment.

• Perform a variety of finishing techniques, including troweling, floating, brooming, edging, stamping, exposed aggregate and other specified surface treatments.

• Install, align, set and verify formwork, granular base materials and reinforcing steel to ensure proper grade, depth and project specifications.

• Direct and assist with the placement of concrete into forms or onto prepared surfaces according to drawings, grades and specifications.

• Operate and maintain job-site equipment safely and efficiently, including power screeds, trowels, vibrators, saws, compactors and other concrete placing and finishing equipment.

• Fill voids, remove surface imperfections and ensure concrete surfaces meet quality and finish standards.

• Apply curing, hardening, sealing, waterproofing and damp-proofing treatments to protect and enhance concrete durability.

• Repair, patch, resurface, restore and replace damaged or deteriorated concrete surfaces and structures.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, maps, specifications and grade information to perform work accurately.

• Monitor concrete quality, identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions to achieve required standards.

• Collaborate effectively with foremen, labourers, equipment operators and other crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
